RESPONSIBILITIES
Doug has over 30 years of experience in industry and as an executive search consultant. He has personally managed over 300 search engagements since the mid 1980s and has been involved with many more as a principal.
Doug provides search consulting services to most industries including banking and financial services, healthcare, printing, manufacturing, real estate, public education, chambers of commerce, economic development, arts organizations and other nonprofit organizations. He has successfully completed searches for Board members, CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and officers in virtually all functions including sales, marketing, finance, accounting, production, purchasing and quality. Searches have been conducted for businesses from start-up companies to multi-billion dollar corporations.
EXPERIENCE
Prior to search consulting, Doug worked with three businesses. Initially, he held a marketing and new product development position with the Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company. Subsequently, Doug worked for ten years with Butler Manufacturing Company, a $1B metal building manufacturer. He began in mergers and acquisitions work and ultimately served as the President and CEO of Butler’s largest and most profitable subsidiary. Doug then worked three years for Pneumafil Corporation initially leading the Textile Division, and later managing businesses in the textile, power generation and furniture industries.
PERSONAL
Doug has served as the Chairman of TreeTops, a regional camp for disadvantaged children. He previously served as Chairman of the Family Center, the Human Services Planning Board, and of the Coalition for Literacy and has been active on the Board and the Executive Committee of the United Way. He has also worked with Junior Achievement and the Chamber of Commerce.
